Philip Batlin
Philip Batlin is a Managing Director Investments in Marcus & Millichap's National Multi Housing Group in San Francisco. He has been with Marcus & Millichap since 2009, and Bay Area apartment buildings are his focus. Marcus & Millichap describes him as one of the region's premier apartment brokers. He has closed more than 150 investment real estate transactions, including apartment and mixed use sales involving more than 1,000 units across San Francisco, San Mateo County, Santa Clara County and the East Bay.
His results have earned Marcus & Millichap's Sales Recognition Award eight times, most recently in 2025, along with the firm's National Achievement Award in 2021 and induction into its Senior Investment Advisors (SIA) in 2017.
Owners, families and trusts hire Phil because he prices buildings off real comparable sales, brings qualified buyers to the table and runs a disciplined process from listing to close. He works with owners of every size, from duplexes to large apartment communities. He also works with 1031 exchange buyers, finding and negotiating replacement investment properties across the country. He has represented trustees, executors and bank trust departments, including Wells Fargo as successor trustee, in the sale of income property.
A third generation San Francisco native and San Diego State graduate, Phil trains at the San Francisco Olympic Club and spends his free time with his wife and two children.
